Strategy That Holds
Town Squared Strategies helps organizations make better communications and brand decisions by combining strategy, stakeholder intelligence, audience insight, and analytical rigor. We work on the harder problem behind most communications challenges: not just what to say, but how a message, brand, or idea will move through the real environment around it.
Our work spans communications strategy, brand positioning and identity, stakeholder and audience research, messaging, campaign development, and measurement. We map the people, narratives, incentives, and channels that shape outcomes, then turn that understanding into practical strategy and execution.
What sets Town Squared apart is the connective tissue between analysis and action. We help clients understand who matters, what they respond to, how meaning changes as it travels, and which messages are most likely to hold. The bias is toward getting the read right before getting it loud — and toward building communications and brands that are clear, credible, and grounded in evidence.

Nathan R. Fitzgerald
Founder & Lead Strategist
Spend 15 minutes with Nathan and you’ll realize he loves to tell a story. Over more than a decade, Nathan has worked across government relations, strategic communications, brand strategy, and go-to-market leadership, helping organizations navigate complex stakeholder environments, sharpen their positioning, build compelling narratives, and translate insight into action.
His approach combines qualitative judgment with quantitative rigor. He is particularly interested in how narratives move through markets, institutions, media, and communities, and how organizations can build communications strategies that remain clear, credible, and effective as they travel.
Nathan holds a BA in Political Science and a master’s of science degree in Information Systems from the University of Washington Foster School of Business, where he developed deep expertise in analytics, NLP, AI, and systems thinking. At Town Squared, he leads strategy, client relationships, and interdisciplinary teams that bring together research, communications, brand, and specialized execution.
He believes the strongest communications work starts with an accurate read of the environment, not a louder message.
