Apex Action PR Becomes Town Squared Strategies | Strategic Communications & Program Management
For more than a decade, my work has lived at the intersection of strategic communications, public affairs, stakeholder strategy, and program execution. Apex Action PR grew out of that work and gave me a platform to help organizations tell better stories, strengthen their brands, and navigate complex communications challenges.
But over time, the work evolved.
Increasingly, clients did not simply need public relations, a campaign, or a communications plan. They needed help understanding the larger environment around the problem: who the key stakeholders were, how influence moved between them, which messages and narratives were gaining traction, and how strategy translated into coordinated execution.
In many cases, the communications challenge was also a strategic program management challenge.
That evolution is behind the transition from Apex Action PR to Town Squared Strategies, a strategic communications and program management consultancy focused on helping organizations understand complex stakeholder environments and turn strategy into action.
The name comes from the idea of the town square: a place where information moves, interests compete, relationships form, and decisions take shape. Modern organizations operate within similarly complex ecosystems. Customers, policymakers, employees, communities, media, partners, and leadership all influence how an issue is understood and what happens next.
Effective communications strategy starts with understanding that system.
Town Squared Strategies focuses on two closely connected disciplines: strategic communications consulting and strategic program management.
On the communications side, that includes stakeholder analysis, messaging and narrative strategy, public affairs, research, executive communications, and communications planning designed around how information and influence actually move through an organization or stakeholder ecosystem.
On the strategic program management side, Town Squared helps organizations turn strategy into coordinated action by defining objectives, aligning stakeholders, organizing workstreams, managing dependencies and risks, and keeping complex initiatives moving toward measurable outcomes.
The common thread is sensemaking and execution.
My background has never fit neatly into a single professional category. I have worked across government relations, strategic communications, marketing, technology, research, entrepreneurship, and organizational strategy. Rather than narrowing that experience, Town Squared Strategies is built to bring those disciplines together.
The objective is not simply to communicate louder.
It is to understand the environment accurately, identify the stakeholders and forces that matter, develop a communications and program strategy around that reality, and create the structure necessary to execute it.
Apex Action PR was an important chapter in that evolution.
Town Squared Strategies is the next one.
